Filming Has Wrapped For Season Two of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”
Hey everyone! The day many of us have been anticipating has finally come: the filming for The Rings of Power season two is finally over, and the footage is now in the hands of the post-production team! This sadly doesn’t mean that we’ll have a trailer or sort anytime soon yet, as post-production can take from a few months up to a year. Post-production involves scene editing, adding music, special effects, color editing etc., and after all this work, trailers and teasers are made for the public to enjoy. There is a lot to hype for in season two, as we very possibly could see Celeborn, Galadriel’ capture, Círdan, an “angelic” form of Sauron, revealing of the Stranger’s character, an epic war scene and more. There has been a wrap party for the cast to enjoy on the 9th of June, so we might also have a few scoops from the cast and the showrunners themselves! https://twitter.com/FellowshipFans/status/1667272491390185472
What to expect in The Rings of Power Season Two
Executive producer Lindsey Weber on season two: “Going into Season 2, we have the benefit of having built these relationships, both the relationships of the characters and the relationships of the actual human cast, and we’re the incredible beneficiaries of that thing and being this much further down the road.” “Season 2 is fundamentally different in that our main villain is out and about and doing his thing. I think in some ways, it’s going to be grittier, more intense, maybe a little scarier. Certainly, it has a lot of the same other tonal ranges that you find in the show, which we feel are really sort of fundamental to feeling like you’re in Middle-earth, but once Sauron is openly on the move and working his plans, things get rather interesting.” (source) Showrunner Patrick McKay adds: “Círdan will be a part of the adventure moving forward in Season 2 We’ve cast a wonderful actor to play him that we will announce at some future date. But part of the fun of telling a story in Middle-earth is that there’s all these wonderful canon characters that you’ve met Season 1 and then there are additional canon characters that we will get to in future seasons. If you know the lore, you know, anybody is fair game who might have been a part of the world at this time.” (source)
