Amazon Has Released 23 Character Posters With Descriptive Text

Amazon Studios went on a marketing blitz today for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power! Everyone has been wondering when a new bit of news would drop surrounding the show after we got our Title Reveal for the show not long ago. The series will appear on Prime Video on September 2, 2022. What you are going to see below would be 23 unique character posters that leave some clues as to who they are. Your guess is as good as mine but feel free to hit us up on social media with your guesses.

The character above must clearly be a Dwarf. You have the warhammer or axe with an inscription, the amazing red beard, multiple rings and gold on their hands. All this screams “Dwarf” which makes this absolutely the most important character amongst the rest that get shown. As far as what does the inscription above say? Well according to reddit user woelj it means:

Awake Sleeping Stone.

The scroll you see above has been flipped over and translated.

A lot of people originally were thinking this somehow linked to Blue Wizards but if you read the descriptive text on the image they refer to this color as “greenish”. And you simply can’t be a Blue who wears green, right?

This text was on the tweet after:

DESCRIPTIVE TEXT: They are dressed in plain and simple garb that is well worn and earthy. The text reads Amazon Original, The Lord of the Rings, The Rings of Power, Prime Video.

Reddit and Discord have both become pretty awesome and overwhelming in their detective work of what actor is playing the characters shared above by digging deep and finding scars on knuckles and fingers to guess these character posters. I don’t want to spoil the fun for anyone and I would like you guys to tune into the next show we have on YouTube so there will be no speculation, publicly, from me. I just wanted to organize all the photos, their descriptive texts and share the translations I felt were accurate.

I also would like to give a special shoutout to Fornad on our discord server who took the time to take each of the photos shared without descriptive text and sent them to me while I was driving to work in an album you can find here:

I'm Varking! I was introduced to Lord of the Rings, and Tolkien, as a whole, by my father when I was really young. He read them to me but I didn't really understand them at the time due to being so young. As I got older I had to read them for school and everything clicked and I fell in love with Middle-earth. Most of you that recognize me probably do from the LOTR_on_Prime subreddit or FoF streams but I also have a podcast called Green Lanterns Podcast and it’s available on all platforms.
